MBONYUMUTWA

Avocat à la Cour (Attorney-at-law)

Patrice was born in Kigali (Rwanda), he is married and has two children.

He has a Law Degree from the Catholic University in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium awarded in 2001.

He started his career in August 2001, working for a medium-sized law firm in Luxembourg in the fields of business law and litigation law.

He was sworn in as a Lawyer at the Luxembourg Bar on 11 July 2002.

Following his admission to List I as a Avocat à la Cour (Barrister in common law) in 2004, he chose to devote his career to litigation law and thus joined a firm specialised in litigation law in all areas of law.

Patrice founded the firm MMS Avocats in 2010 (which then became MBONYUMUTWA|AVOCATS in 2017), with the ambition of combining the benefits of a business consultancy with those of a litigation law firm, in the interests of clients.

He speaks French, English, and Kinyarwanda.

He is a member of the following associations:
-    ELSA (the Luxembourg Employment Law Specialists Association)
-    ALJB (the Luxembourg Banking Law Experts Association)
-    ALAP (the Luxembourg Criminal Lawyers Association)

He is a former member of an organisation for young lawyers at the Luxembourg Bar (the CJBL), where from a position of sports representative, he organised the participation of the Luxembourg Bar in the Lawyers’ Football World Cup held in Hungary in June 2004.

In 2011 he became an associate teacher at the University of Luxembourg, where, after having taught Criminal Law for three years between 2011 and 2014, he has been teaching the seminar of Introduction to Luxembourg Law since 2015.

He loves literature, history, geography, geopolitics, chess, football, and running.
